Davana

Davana is a close relative of mugwort with the scientific name Artemisia pellens. Also used as an herb in India, this plant produces many small yellow flowers and has a sweet, fruity scent reminiscent of tea and dried fruit. It also has herbal, bitter-green undertones.

What Does It Smell Like in Perfume?

Davana essential oil is a natural fragrance material obtained by steam-distilling the flowering tops of Artemisia pallens. In perfume, its green herbal character and slight bitterness are layered with a thick, sweet fruitiness reminiscent of ripe apricots, quince, liqueur, tea, and dried fruit. Another characteristic is its transition from a herbal, syrupy opening to a calm, leathery drydown. It brings light and shade to fruity sweetness, adding distinctive depth to fruity-floral and woody compositions.
