Jo Malone is the founder of Jo Malone London (in Japanese), the famous brand that bears her name. She no longer owns the brand, having sold Jo Malone London to Estée Lauder. She has founded a new brand, Jo Loves, and is once again in the spotlight in the perfume industry, including through collaborations with Zara.
As its title suggests, this book written by Jo is an autobiography revealing half a century of her life. How did an ordinary woman, born into the British middle class and taking over her mother’s salon, create one of the world’s leading fragrance (in Japanese) houses (in Japanese)? You can fully immerse yourself in her eventful life, a life stranger than fiction.
It is a paperback of the kind often found among books from abroad, with few photographs and an entirely monochrome interior, which makes it very difficult to read. Still, it is a book that Jo Malone fans should read. Some readers may find courage in her life story. I also recommend displaying it at home as a stylish book.
