Freesia

Freesia, a plant in the iris family, has a faint citrus scent with a radiant sweetness, spiciness, and powderiness. Its scent is generally analyzed using headspace techniques and reconstructed with synthetic fragrance ingredients.

It actually smells like tea.

What Does It Smell Like in Perfume?

In perfume, freesia is a recreated note composed from several synthetic ingredients, taking the scent of the living flower as its guide. Starfleur® has floral, green, lily-of-the-valley/freesia, and aldehydic facets, bringing brightness from the top into the heart. Tetrahydro Muguol is a material that extends the floral character toward freesia, rose, and lilac. In some living flowers, linalool is a major scent component, and the intensity of emission also changes with the stage of flowering.
