Q. If I want to blend my own perfume, what should I search for and buy?

A. First, let me introduce the book I recommend most highly: Aroma Choko Lesson (Aroma Perfume-Blending Lessons), written by Miya Shinma, the founder and perfumer of MiyaShinma. Everything is explained on page 12.

Generally, perfume consists of fragrance materials, ethanol, a bottle, and a spray mechanism. Fragrance materials include essential oils. These are therefore the things you will need if you want to blend your own perfume. In the end, you can make your own perfume by blending essential oils, but the fascinating part is that the scent produced by a combination changes with the quantities and even the origins of the materials.

With this in mind, the book I introduced at the beginning is an extremely important volume that fully shares Miya Shinma’s knowledge of creating perfume, rather than aromatherapy blends.

Please do read it thoroughly.
