Perfume is a kind of message about beauty. A perfume can move you very deeply and very emotionally, and the perfume you wear can also express who you are. It can become part of your identity and personality. When you decide to wear a perfume, it becomes part of you, and when you wear it, you are trying to say something to other people.

Book Review
This book, whose title means “a perfumer’s aphorisms” in Japanese, was written by Dominique Ropion, who debuted with Givenchy’s Ysatis and has continued to create wonderful fragrances in the perfume industry for just under 40 years. Frédéric Malle has called Ropion one of the finest perfumers working today. Malle has teamed up with Ropion for 20 years, creating a variety of fragrances together, and also wrote the foreword to this book.
True to its title, the book draws on notes Dominique Ropion wrote throughout a life in perfumery. Divided into 15 chapters, it ranges widely from Ropion’s student days to the stories behind the perfumes Ropion created.
Before studying the formulas of old perfumes, you can come to understand their alchemy and structure by somehow managing to imitate their scents perfectly, and discover why fragrances such as Germaine Cellier’s Bandit and Fracas became so famous.
