Vincent Schaller: Bringing More Scent into Everyday Life Through Chemistry and Sensibility

Career in Perfumery

Born in Switzerland, Vincent Schaller was passionate about the artistry of the perfume industry from childhood. After earning a master’s degree in chemical engineering and a doctorate in chemistry at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) in Switzerland, Schaller joined Firmenich in 2000.

Beginning a career as a perfumer in São Paulo, Brazil, Schaller showed talent not only in fine fragrance (in Japanese), but also in creating scents for body care, shampoos, and fabric care. He appears to have composed the fragrances for Colgate’s Suavitel Blue Fabric Softner and AXE body deodorant sprays. He also creates bespoke perfumes for celebrities and has composed fragrances for Jennifer Lopez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karl Lagerfeld.

In recent years, as a Senior Perfumer (in Japanese), he appears to have focused on home fragrances through work with Bath & Body Works and Yankee Candle.
